Whetū Iti

Whetū Iti (Little Star) is for children 6 months to 2 1/2 years approximately.

Nau Mai Haere Mai…Welcome to Whetū Iti

Here at Whetū Iti we like to practice having a calm and inviting space for our children to play and explore at their own pace.

Throughout the day we offer children the chance to explore the inside and outside environment, this provides opportunity for children to learn about themselves and the world around them.

Our rituals are predictable and familiar experiences where the children know what is going to happen next. This supports the children to build a sense of trust and belonging here at Whetū Iti.

We practice primary care which helps the children create special bonds with our kaiako, working together to make these moments meaningful and consistent. We want children to feel comfortable and secure within the environment and as kaiako we are there to provide a space that helps children to feel safe and secure to express themselves and discover who they are.
